7075 aluminum sheet, as a high-quality aluminum alloy, has attracted much attention for its excellent physical properties and wide range of applications. Aluminum 7075 tensile strength is as high as 524Mpa, and its yield strength has also reached 455Mpa, which makes the 7075 aluminum plate perform well when withstanding high loads and impact forces. In addition, the elongation rate of the 7075 aluminum plate reaches 11%, showing good toughness. In terms of elastic modulus and hardness, 7075 aluminum plate also performs well and can meet the requirements of various complex and harsh working environments.
This is owed to al 7075 chemical composition. Zinc is the main alloying element in the 7075 aluminum plate. By adding magnesium to the alloy containing 3%-7.5% zinc, MgZn2 with significant strengthening effect is formed, thereby greatly improving the heat treatment effect of the alloy. At the same time, a small amount of copper, chromium and other alloying elements are also added to the 7075 aluminum plate. The addition of these elements further improves the performance of the material.
In addition to its excellent physical properties, 7075 aluminum plate also has good mechanical properties and anodic reaction characteristics. It has good wear resistance, is easy to process and form, and has good corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance. This allows 7075 aluminum plate to maintain stable performance in a variety of harsh environments and extend its service life.
The corrosion resistance of the 2xxx series alloys is not as good as most other aluminum alloys and intergranular corrosion may occur under certain conditions. Therefore, these aluminum alloys are usually clad with high purity alloys or 6xxx series magnesium silicon alloys to provide electroplating protection to the core material, which greatly improves corrosion resistance.
The composition of 2024 aluminum alloy roughly includes 4.3-4.5% copper, 0.5-0.6% manganese, 1.3-1.5% magnesium and less than 0.5% silicon, zinc, nickel, chromium, lead and bismuth. It can only be welded by friction welding and has moderate machinability.
2024 aluminum alloy is an alloy frequently used in the aerospace industry. It is a high-strength alloy suitable for projects requiring high strength-to-weight ratio and fatigue resistance. Therefore, it is mainly found in wing and fuselage structures that are often subjected to tension.
The newest and best performing alloy in the 2000 series is 2524 aluminum alloy, which has significant improvements in toughness and fatigue resistance compared to AA 2024 and has been successfully used in the B777 passenger aircraft.
